We have advised and worked with world class corporations, banks, global organizations and financial services firms.
John Chon is a Founder and Managing Partner of COR Advisors, LLC. COR Advisors provides consulting services to global corporations, foundations, and growth companies. COR Advisors has an expertise within the hedge fund industry and in the insurance industry. John has more than 25 years of experience specializing in executive benefits, compensation, insurance, and investments. His past clients included numerous Fortune 100 companies as well as very large private companies in the United States.
Prior to founding COR Advisors, John served as Vice President with Marsh McLennan ’s Executive Benefits division. John’s practice involved assisting clients in the design, development, administration and funding of their executive benefit plans as well as to develop innovative funding solutions for certain corporate benefit liabilities such as the use of captive insurance and alternative investments.
John served as Vice President, Consulting at MullinTBG, a national executive benefits consulting firm and a Prudential company. He co-founded the Dallas office of MullinTBG in 1999 and developed it into the most profitable regional office at the time. Prior to joining MullinTBG, Mr. Chon was with Clark Consulting in Dallas. In addition, he established an executive benefits practice at a regional financial services firm in the Silicon Valley as well as worked in a product development role for a major financial services company.
He has presented before the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals (NASPP) regarding the impact of 409A on deferred compensation plans. In addition, John has presented before the Cox School of Business/National Association of Corporate Directors regarding executive benefits and the new SEC proxy disclosure rules. He also co-authored an article for the National Association of Corporate Directors on the topic of hedge-funds and due diligence by the Board of Directors.
John Chon received his Bachelor of Science degree in physics from University of California at Irvine and he received his MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University.
Joseph Omansky is a Founder and Managing Partner of COR Advisors, LLC and based in New York City. Mr. Omansky is CEO of Sky Fund LLC and the SkyRank System of Hedge Fund Ratings, the largest hedge fund rating system in the world which he created in 2003. His patent on SkyRank was allowed in December 2008 by the USPTO. overs over 12,000 hedge funds worldwide, and its users measure in the thousands. He also is an Associate and Partner of Trusted Insight Inc, the Trust Network in alternative Investments based in New York City.
Prior to his founding SkyRank, he created and managed an equity options volatility model for Tradelink LLC, a Chicago-based multi-strategy hedge fund. Prior to this, he was an equity options market maker of Lakota Trading Inc., a market-making entity owned by the late billionare Steve Fossett on the Chicago Board Options Exchange. Early in his career, he worked for Merrill Lynch and Fidelity Investments. He has been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The Financial Times, Institutional Investor, Global Pensions Magazine, RealDeals Magazine, and Alpha Magazine. He has been a panel speaker and moderator at several hedge fund conferences throughout the United States. The SkyRank System has appeared on CNBC.
He received his Master's in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University and his Bachelor's in Economics from Clark University. He has also studied international business at the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and is fluent in Spanish.
Michael Ryan, CHE is a Founder and Managing Partner of COR Advisors, LLC and is based in SanFrancisco. He has 30 years experience in leading world class companies in the healthcare and technology.
Mr. Ryan is chairman of www.execimpactgroup.com an international advisory firm and serves as an advisor, CEO mentor and on the board of directors of companies in the United States, Australia, India, Singapore and China including www.brokersweb.com (INC Magazine's "2011 Fastest Growing Companies ranked as the #1 Insurance company category), HealthCare.com, and Salorix.
Mr. Ryan has been involved with more than 150 startup, growth and Fortune 500 companies as an advisor, investor, executive or board member. During his career he has served as CEO within the largest health systems in the United States including $20 billion Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), HealthTrust, TransCare and $13 billion AscensionHealth. He is a Fellow and board certified in healthcare management and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and received a “Service Star” award being a member since 1982.
